Messy Church 7.5.2014

Everyone had a wonderful time! We played games and created delicious things to eat.
We heard the story of the Prodigal Son and reflected on the amazing love that God has for us.

Thank you to everyone who helped to organise the evening!

Zacchaeus The Tax Collector

2000 years ago - tax-collectors were not very popular to say the least. They were often seen as greedy and mean. The complete opposite to how Jesus wants us to live!

Imagine the fuss it must have caused when Jesus said he was going to stay at the house of such a man! His disciples would have been thinking: "Why spend time with a person who is greedy and mean?" Have a look at Luke 19 in the Bible to read the story.

You could also watch this video, think about our assemblies so far this term and consider forgiveness. Can you see why Jesus spent time with this man?

The Grasshopper and the Ant

What is the lesson from this fable?

What is the link between this and Proverbs 6:

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
 It has no commander,
    no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

Think about what God wants us to do and behave.

Harvest assembly 2013

On Friday 20th September we held our Harvest Assembly.
Sea side base shared their brilliant 'Harvest writing and  pictures', and sang a harvest song.

The children had been busy making bread .......

Lots of people brought foot for our harvest table. We thanked God for the wonderful food His Earth provides for us.
The gifts will be boxed up and sent to the Blandford Food Bank to share amongst the community.
