A New Year at Blandford St Mary!

Welcome back everyone to a new year at Blandford St. Mary Primary School!
This year we will be taking six more Christian Values to explore and embrace.
These are Hope, Humility, Courage, Thankfulness, Service and Responsibility.

This half term we will be learning about, and reflecting on, the value of HOPE.
We ask Jesus, the light of the world, to lead us and guide us in all we do.

For I know the plans I have for you. declares the Lord.
Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.
Plans to give you HOPE and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

Everyone had a wonderful time! We played games and created delicious things to eat.
We heard the story of the Prodigal Son and reflected on the amazing love that God has for us.

Thank you to everyone who helped to organise the evening!

Zacchaeus The Tax Collector

2000 years ago - tax-collectors were not very popular to say the least. They were often seen as greedy and mean. The complete opposite to how Jesus wants us to live!

Imagine the fuss it must have caused when Jesus said he was going to stay at the house of such a man! His disciples would have been thinking: "Why spend time with a person who is greedy and mean?" Have a look at Luke 19 in the Bible to read the story.

You could also watch this video, think about our assemblies so far this term and consider forgiveness. Can you see why Jesus spent time with this man?
